Gap year

I will receive my 12th result in May 2024 and I am planning on applying for Medicine for Sept2025 as the deadline for applications are Sept2024, will this time be considered as a gap year?

Also will this reduce the chance of me getting into a university for medicine?

Sorry, I am not sure what your 12th result is.

But on the basis that it is your end of education exams and you will not be in education from September 2024, then yes, it is effectively a gap year if you wish to apply for 2025 entry.

No it will not harm your chances of getting a place, and if you opt to do something which will give you evidence to support your application at the interview stage, it may actually be helpful.

Many many people take one or more goes to get a place. Some take gap years by choice, and some have it forced upon them. Age isn't a significant consideration for medicine as people start at all ages.

Good luck.
