SQA Higher French - Listening - 26th April 2024 [Exam Chat]

hello, does anybody know if the listening is going to be 30 marks this year like it was in 2018? 20 marks for the actual listening paper as usual and then 10 marks to write a mini essay in french???

hey it’ll be the same as 2023 where we don’t have to write a mini essay

read through the lines and highlight what you want to write answers, try to find all possible answers as some may be harder or easier to write in english
basically treat it like a big translation paper lol
don’t ignore small words like “parfois, à moins, toujours” etc
make sure you know the different tenses
for the 2 marker at the end write one bulletpoint with a basic statement eg “the writer has a balanced opinion about blablabla because blablabla” and the second one showing how (reference to points or quote)

Reading was great, writing was very unpredictable but if u had revised it was straightforward bar modifying a few things. Listening was tough, didnt help that the whiteboard was quiet

the reading translation was ok but i said 'every' for chacun instead of everyone idk if im right tho

How was the listening? I could not do well in Dialogue. Just want to know , if its just me or others also has same feeling? Any idea , grade boundary me get lower?
