gcse history

How much depth should I go into for the GCSE History theme study for OCR option A? It's like 1010 years, which is a crazy amount to revise, and Idk what amount of depth is needed for a 9. HELPPP

Heyy a lot of my friends r doing gcse history, and i get a lot from them abt it!

So what i would say..
Its rllyy important that u MEMORISE all of the content u have studied so this could be:
- key dates, the events, locations and any figures that were involved
- the event and what impact/significance it played to the society at the time

Now u meed to PLAN ur answers, so basically looking at the exam technique..think of a bundle of questions that may come up in the exam..try and cover various topics and plan how u would answer it… in other words PRACTICE PAPERS..

Thats all i can rlly say abt gcse history, but i would recommend talking to an acc gcse history student as i am of a secondary source to the original advice u would want to hear XD

anyways gl for ur exams!!

Hey there, I did OCR History option B, but the revision methods should be relatively the same. FYI im currently doing history ocr a levels and i got a 9 for history gcse.

As for what i did to revise:

Digital timelines summarising the unit/topic per paper (helps with simplifying content and having a broad overview of it) -> this took quite a while to do, i started in year 10 and finished it by january yr 11

Blurting key topics

Practice essay plans (i basically did all the past papers and made up some questions on my own to answer on topics that haven't come up yet)

Some unconventional methods of revision I did for history was just gossiping/talking about the units with my friends over call or to my parents. It's pretty interesting and fun to do and you'll be able to summarise and talk about events in your own words making it pretty memorable.

I hope this helps. Good luckk.
