Insurance choice

Hi there
I currently have 3 uni offers - Leeds medicine (AAA), Hull York medicine (AAA) and Bristol modern languages (BBC) and I’ve been trying to decide what to put as my insurance choice.
I know I want to firm Leeds, but I’m not sure if I can put an offer with the same grade requirements as my insurance. I’d also prefer to be in Bristol over Hull, so that pushes me towards languages which I know I’d love, but I’m also not sure if I’d want to give up on medicine just because of where I’d be doing it.
Any advice?
Thank you!

How badly do you want to be a doctor? If it was that badly, then you wouldn't care about 'which Uni', and you would just be overwhelming grateful that you had two offers for your dream course. And yes, you can put Leeds as your Firm and Hull-York as your Insurance - its possible that if you miss your Firm, H-Y may still take you, so its actually quite sensible - if you do actually want to do Medicine.

On the other hand, if just 'being in Bristol' is more important to you than being a doctor, its probably wise that you Firm that and forget about Medicine entirely.

Sorry I think my wording in the original post wasn’t quite right. I basically meant to ask if it’s possible to put 2 choices with the same grade requirements, as even though I would like Bristol, it’s not medicine and I would rather do medicine than just pick a university

Yes you can - and most people with two Med offers will be in the same position, ie. two identical offers - and there is no UCAS rule that says you can't do this. Just make sure you put your first choice as your Firm.

Hi sorry it’s been a while but I’ve firmed Leeds now! Are you on the accom group chat? I don’t think I’m allowed to send the link on TSR but you might be able to find it bc someone definitely has!

Hi there,

you might want to check at your college or on UCAS website but i always thought that insurance had to be a lower offer
