Changing course in first year

Is it possible to change the course I will be doing in first year at university during the first semester? If so, how difficult is it to do? I am wondering as I have been put on a different course but I really want to go to that university. Also, would it just be easier to apply to a course through clearing instead? I am open to trying a different course but I really don't want to do the one I was put on as I am not interested in food science.

It might be possible. Speak with your uni admin team as soon as you can.
Don’t do the course you were put on if it’s not your passion. There’s nothing worse than spending 3 years getting into debt for something you don’t enjoy.
There no guarantee that the course you’re interested in will go into clearing so don’t rely on that.
If you’re not sure what course you want to do, consider taking a gap year. Don’t do a degree for the sake of it.
