Social work degree apprenticeship?

Is there anyone who is doing or has done their degree apprenticeship for social work? I have UG university offers but i’m interested in the apprenticeship and may consider this.

I’m currently on my 1st year of SW apprenticeship.

How has it been for you?

The course itself is brilliant and very interesting. If you’re already working in SW sector and go into Uni, it still is a big impact on your learning.
The apprenticeship is demanding, even more in Social work degree as they need to make sure we are fully ready to deal with people’s lives. We need to take this very seriously.
If you work and study at the same time, you’re been spending a lot of time studying. You’ll have less time for yourself or to have fun. But it might be just on the first year. 2nd and 3rd year you have placements and they are great experience . Meet new professionals . Observe their ways of working .
The Tutors are amazing and very helpful throughout the course. Your colleagues make it a bit easier too. After all, we are in this together.

How did you find the apprenticeship? Was it through the gov website or somewhere else, because I can’t find any social work apprenticeships near me😓 Also how was the application process?

Im still on my first year but it’s very demanding. The will tell you in your interview or on 1st day of uni that this course will take a lot of your time. Self-study. Lots and lots of written assignments to prepare you for the following years.

I’ve found the apprenticeship on Gov and then was informed that my work place could actually support me with that. rather than applying through Gov, I’ve applied through my employer.
I was already working within Social work area

I have recently been invited to a group discussion/ interview with my local council for a SW apprenticeship. Anyone have any tips or know how much content I'll have to know to do a good job of this?

I found the written test from the university fairly easy but not sure if I will need to study more for the interview especially because it will be entirely obvious to everyone if I draw a blank.

Hi, I have an interview with a local council for a social work apprenticeship. Can you please help with likely questions they might ask. After the interview, the second part is with Staffordshire University.

Thank you
