Hi @arielprincess,

Congratulations on receiving an offer to study History at the University of Glasgow!

As a History student, you would be studying on the main campus, located in Glasgow's West End. The campus tends to be lively, particularly during term time. There are two student unions (the GUU and the QMU) and plenty of nearby cafes, restaurants, bars and pubs, so there are a lot of places to socialise outside of classes.

Much of the main campus is relatively close together, and Glasgow has various means of public transport. The Glasgow Subway is quite popular amongst students as the campus is located close to the Kelvinhall, Hillhead and Kelvinbridge stations. The campus is also commutable via bus, so it would depend on whereabouts in Glasgow you would be staying. Many of UofG's student accomodations are situated close to its main campus, so walking to campus is also a popular option for those who live nearby.

Hiya! I love the nightlife at Glasgow uni, there's loads going on on campus. I mean it! We have not just 1 but 3 full size student unions and - best of all - a university run nightclub! Yes, really! It's mad! 😃😃 It's called Hive so look out for people saying they're going to Hive when you start. I like going there as I know there's a certain safety from it being on the university campus versus the inner city clubs. Also, it's common for the sports clubs to go there after training which is so much fun!
My favourite club is queen Margaret Union (QMU) but there's GU Union (the oldest one, walking in there is like walking into Harry potter) and the SRC! (Who are also the independent on campus student advice centre)

Honestly, You're sorted 👍
