engineering at oxbridge/russell group - study abroad?

i am a british year 12 currently looking at the top bracket of unis for my ucas this september. I was thinking about how ive seen some unis offer courses with year abroad etc. and i tried looking for oxford/cambridge, but any information i could find was vague/sparse. does anyone know if there are international schemes at these unis? my current guess is that there are some but you dont apply for them, rather the opportunity comes up when you are there.

I'm at Cambridge but not doing Engineering though I have some friends that are. Generally speaking, there is no year abroad or a year in industry. However, you are expected to an internship or something similar in the summer - I think it may even be a requirement for progression onto the fourth year.
