I am currently deciding between firming the university of manchester or the university of birmingham to study Theology and religion.
Here is a pros and cons list i think for each university:
UoM:
pros - diverse city, very interesting course, i have family there, russell group university, have heard many good things about the social life, good balance of academics and social life
cons - further from home than birmingham (i am from london), i have not visited the campus yet and not planning to until i actually start the course - this is a risk because imagine i don’t like it, ranked slightly lower than birmingham for theology and religion (still a reputable uni though), have heard the teaching is not that great (not entirely sure though), higher grades than birmingham - ABB
UoB:
pros - the campus is beautiful, diverse city, russell group university, closer to home, asking for BBB (lower grades than manchester), study a year abroad, also good academics and social life balance as i’ve heard
cons - the course is not as fascinating as manchesters, some optional modules don’t seem that great
Some points i’m unsure of: which theology and religion department is better? and undergraduate destination? also social life?
If you attend either university could you please state your pros and cons list🙏
