A LEVELS HELP Y12 med

Hi,
So basically I was a very good student and was always attaining high grades, when y11 started I stopped trying and managed to get high passes (6/7) in my subjects, not something I'm proud of.
However, I started y12 and was still sloppy and have only started to get back on track in the past two months.
I have gone from Failing all my subjects to ABB in business bio and psych. I want to do med and have mocks soon and I'm really worried that even if I do well in mocks that my teachers may not move up my grades. Can anyone give me any tips in convincing teachers and any tips for a last push to receive A in bio/psych.

There are only a few Unis that offer Medicine without Chemistry and you need to check this, and any GCSE requirements, carefully. And also be aware that Chemistry is an important subject within Med training / practice and if you didn't take it for A level, is this because you find it difficult and will therefore struggle with it at degree level?

Discuss with your teachers or head of sixth to see whether achieving an A/A* would give you the predicted grades you need. Asking won’t make them more or less likely to give certain grades(so don’t feel bad for asking) as it’s solely based on your performance. When are your mocks?

I already researched all of them and there is a lot of mee schools that offer places.

Hey I think the most important factor when it comes to predicted grades = your progress throughout the year + your mock grade. The fact that you went from failing to ABB shows that something is working and that in itself is really good. If your mocks can exceed these grades they will be more confident in giving your a higher predicted. Most of my friends, and myself included, got predicted a grade above our mock grades. I was a B maths student for most of Y12 and got a B in my mock. I consistently did HW and if I were to actually compare the mark I got for the mock I sat, in the real exam it would have been an A. I got predicted an A in the end. I even bargained with my teacher to knock up my chemistry predicted from an A to an A* (got an A in the mocks). I said that I wasn't too far off the grade boundary and that in my first unit test back in Y13, I got an A*. I also pointed out my progress (joined chemistry a month late in Y12 and my first unit tests, where I self-taught myself the first 2 units, was a B and an A, despite my report card showing a C). I've been able to catch up and subsequently secured As and A*s in all my Y12 unit tests. Show all the proof you have and explain to them your desire to study med. Teachers know that you need at least an AAA and they will consider this. Be humble but genuine in your reasons.
