Hi there,

Happy to hear that you are considering Lancaster as your uni of choice!
It's a difficult decision, but of course make sure to compare the course structure and delivery at both universities. It is also important to consider how the course is assessed.
Secondly, have you been to an Offer Holder event at Lancaster and UEA? Seeing the universities in person usually makes a great difference and personally, my Open Day visit to Lancaster is what made me choose it over other unis at the end.

Then, more things to consider:

Accommodation

Career support (this is something I can definitely say is fantastic at Lancaster: we have a very active and accessible careers team that offer 1:1 support, and multiple internships and work opportunities offered at the university throughout the year).

Find out more about any societies you'd like to join.

Consider the local area as well, which town do you prefer: Lancaster vs Norwich.

Community and events (At Lancaster we have multiple SU organised events, large and small; colleges, with their individual cosy bars, study rooms, events and competitions and frequently ran trips to the Lake District and the local areas, and surprisingly active parties, thanks to the creativity of the students. I'm sure UEA have similar opportunities as well).

We have ducks and little ducklings (we are very proud of them, so I had to mention 🙂 ).

Lastly, please drop a message to one of our UniBuddy ambassadors for your department to find out more about the course! There is no better way to learn about it than to hear it directly from the students.

Hope this helps, and I'm sure that no matter the decision, you will be able to have a great time and make the most of your degree experience!

Hi, I was just wondering if I would still be allowed into to study law at Lancaster if I got ABB instead of AAB?
Thanks

Hi
My advise would be to contact our clearing team; our Clearing hotline is open from 8am (BST) on Thursday 15th August - you can call us at 0800 298 9542 or +44 1524 931 300 from overseas.
Some courses do in fact have reduced entry requirements, although other courses may be the same or even higher, so it just depends. On results day, the specific grades will be posted, although you can also talk to a member of our team, using the number above, to discuss your specific situation.
Hope this helps!

Hi @arendele,

Congratulations on your offers!

International Relations sounds like an interesting course. While I do not study it myself, it might be useful to reach out to our current students via Unibuddy, where you can ask as many questions as you like about their course! Check out our Unibuddy here .

In terms of social life and community, I would definitely say UEA offers a friendly environment full of diverse social opportunities. With 57 sports clubs and numerous societies, there’s something for everyone and lots of new friends to meet along the way! Have a look here and here .

Many of our courses also offer a great balance between work and social life, with plenty of opportunities to meet up with your classmates at our SU Bar or even just for pizza! From studying at UEA I’ve found that our teachers are very supportive and love to organize events for their students.

Are you planning to move away from home? As we have a great range of accommodations both on campus and off, I’ve added the links here for you too! If you’ve not already visited our campus I would definitely recommend coming down and having a look or visiting Norwich’s vibrant city centre.

Here is a link to our Virtual open day as well😊 and you can also speak to our admissions team here

Hope that helps and feel free to ask any questions
