Hi @Noname60,
Great to hear you're interested in Reading!

In terms of making your decision, I'd have a look at the modules on offer at both, and see which you prefer the look of. The ones beginning with PM1 are our first year pharmacy modules, and you'll be able to pick one or two of the other first year modules from that list too. Obviously it's super important to think about where you're working and the facilities available to you to use, but also have a think about your wider university experience - societies, campus, making friends, study spaces etc! You can learn all about what Reading has to offer here. You may want to chat with Fiyinfoluwa, who is currently studying on our MPharm course to find out more on a more personal level!

We also now have the Elizabeth line that can get you to Reading in 22 minutes, and then its just a 10m bus ride (we have a dedicated station to university route that runs 24/7) to get to campus and a short 5m walk from the bus stop to most of our main buildings on Whiteknights campus really. If you can, I'd recommend you try to visit both universities to see which you feel more comfortable/ at home in - we have campus tours every Thursday for those who are interested.

I hope this helps! Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

Hey @Noname60 🙂
Glad you're considering Herts to study Pharmacy!
I would echo a lot of what UniofReading have suggested - very important to take a look at the modules both options offer and see which aligns most with your goals.

Here are some of the things we are proud to offer at Herts:

Hospital, community and industry placements across all years - which our devoted careers team can help you find and secure

State-of-the-art facilities, including a refurbished chemistry lab and a simulated pharmacy - check out the virtual tour here!

We have strong links with local healthcare providers and pharmaceutical industries

I was a student at the University of Hertfordshire from 2020 - 2023 and can say its absolutely doable. I also had to commute from North London to Hatfield, in a 25 minute train journey, and then a 15 minute bus journey to our College Lane campus, where you would be studying Pharmacy 🙂

I would suggest chatting with Adnan, an MPharm final year student who will be more than happy to answer any questions you might have - whether its about uni life or the course itself!

I hope this helps, good luck with your studies! 🙂
