The Student Room Group

Student Finance income details

I was going to apply for the maximum loan for student finance, and was wondering if my parents need to provide any details, such as taxable income, if they provide their national insurance number. I have been told by a couple of friends that it is not required to provide income from wages if you just provide your national insurance number, but ive also seen online that student finance compare your parents details from what detail you have provides.

so now i am a bit confused here, and would appreciate if someone could help me.

thank you.

Hi there,

In most cases we only need your parents' National Insurance Numbers. That way, we'll get their income directly from HMRC.

So, if they were able to do this then that's all w should need.

Thanks, Graeme
