Seeking Advice on Pursuing Psychology Conversion Course and Further Studies

Hello everyone,

I'm a social science graduate who's developed a keener interest in health psychology. I'm now considering enrolling on an MSc Psychology conversion course to gain the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership.

While I meet the entry requirements for this conversion course, I have some questions about funding my path to becoming a professional psychologist.

I studied for four years at the undergraduate level (two years self-funded part-time and two years SFE-funded full-time). Would I still be eligible for initial conversion course funding from SFE?

After the conversion course, I'd then have to specialise further. However, I'm unsure about funding options for a second Masters degree. Can SFE help with tuition fees again (under some kind of exemption rule), or, is help available through the NHS (for example through an apprenticeship or bursary route)? Could I skip doing a second master's and go straight into a PhD instead?

I really appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you in advance!

Hi there,

So we can check this, can you please tell us what university or college is offering the MSc Psychology course?

Thanks, Graeme
