Gap Year questioning

Are new applicants and gap year students who have already achieved the grades treated any differently during the application process? I want to take a gap year but my mother believes universities won't want to take me if I do and that they'd prefer students that have yet to take their exams, is this true? Help would be very appreciated !!

Untrue. In fact they often prefer gap year applicants because they're applying with achieved grades!

Hey, I did this and I had one uni ask why I took the gap year, but nowhere else cared at all. It might depend on the uni, but you’ll probably be fine
