Rishi Sunak has rejected an EU offer to strike a post-Brexit deal to allow young Britons to live, study or work in the bloc for up to four years.

Good.

Governments need to tackle long term labour market issues directly via investment and automation, not import more labour. Immigration is already at 1.2m and young people from the U.K. leaving for Europe is of no value to us.

The problem isn’t young people who aspire to a better standard of living, the problem for the last 14 years has been Conservative voters who elected a government that ignored our economic problems.

What outcome were conservatives expecting other than a decline in our standards of living?
