The Student Room Group

Student finance made an error. Need advice.

On the 2nd of April I've sent my paper application. On the 3rd of April I got an E-mail saying my application is incorrect because it is a 2024/2025 form for a 2023/2024 application. My course starts on sept 2024. I quadruple checked both my online application and paper form, THEY ARE CORRECT. So my question is, do I reaply? Who do i contact? Will i get my finance in time? Is it my fault or an error on the government's side? Do I resend a paper form?

Hi there,

Sometimes, if you had both a 23/24 and 24/25 application we need to cancel both of them. That's because you need apply as new student in the 24/25 year.

On your account are you able to re-apply now? Does it give you the option to say that you're a new student?

Thanks, Graeme
