I'm from India, but I did a virtual tour. I want to earn work experience. Which university will help me land a good job. My course is related to finance in all universities.

All the universities are good.
But, it is up to you to take advantage of any opportunities - volunteering, summer placement, joining societies - to enhance your employability. Because, ultimately, everyone doing the same degree as you will be competing against you for jobs.
They all seem to offer sandwich placements, which you can do even if you didn't specifically apply to do a sandwich course (during second year, if you have secured a year long placement, then you will be on a sandwich course).

My question for you is: what made you apply to those universities for finance? Which one did you prefer more?

Hi there,

Congratulations on your offers!

Here are a couple of things I think are important when considering which university to choose:

What are the modules like for each course? Which interest you the most and will lead you in the direction you'd like to go in?

What facilities do the universities offer? Such as libraries, study spaces, lecture halls, dining, etc.

Have you had a look at the campus/city? Could you see yourself living there for 3+ years?

What extra-curricular activities do they offer that you might be interested in?

What is the cost of living like in each of these locations?

These are just a few points I would consider when choosing a university. You could also check (on their website/by emailing staff on where to find) work experience opportunities they may offer and job prospects for that course.

I hope this helps and best of luck,

Hi Anon, how are you?

Firstly congratulations on receiving an offer from multiple universities, you must be so pleased and it's great to see that UCLan is one of them! 😊

Making the decision on which university to choose can be difficult so here are some tips that I thought you may find useful:

Do some research on each of the universities that you have received offer from, most information about campus facilities and the support that is offered to students can be found on their website.

If you haven't already, think about attending an Open Day or a student led campus tour as this will give you a great insight into what student life is really like there.

I would recommend if you can, taking a trip to explore and get a feel for the city/area around each campus allowing you to see if this is somewhere you can see yourself being for the duration of your studies

It's important to do some research on each course to learn more about, it's modules, any placements that are offered and how the course is delivered to see which one you prefer

I also wanted to share with you some information you may not know about our finance courses:

Our BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance degree has accreditation from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Students have the opportunity to connect with industry professionals in our networking sessions enhancing their career prospects

Our former students have gone on to work for leading businesses including BAE Systems, PricewaterhouseCoopers, KPMG and Hewlett Packard

In the third year of our BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance course, students have the chance to go on a 48-week paid industry placement in the UK or overseas.

I do hope this helps and whatever you choose I wish you all the best 😊

Sarah
