summer placement

I want to do placement over the summer but I am not sure what ones to do. What placement choices can I do as someone who wants to become educational psychologist?

I am looking for some in Basingstoke

You are unlikely to get anything directly related. Maybe working at a playscheme or something with children with special needs? Or if your uni does research assistant posts, something with children?

Hi there,

Interrobang gave a good answer, I would also add a few things. As someone who has done a summer research internship in developmental psychology, depending on your placement, you can get experience in working with children in a research context. I'd say that's quite useful for educational psychology.

It's great if your university has a certain scheme for research placements, but from my experience, researchers/lecturers are always happy to have free help haha. I would contact academic staff if they have a project in the summer, and would be willing to take on a student. If its not financially viable for you, you can apply for funding from external bodies. Its best to ask your university of what studentships could be available for you.

Hope that helps,
