In which universities (UK & USA) can I apply with 4A in AS levels (CIE)?

Hi, I'm a nov 23 candidate of CIE AS levels and I got AAAA on Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Further maths? My parents have been swearing at me and abusing me because these grades are not enough to enter top universities like MIT, Harvard, Oxbridge, etc. This makes me really sad and I don't know where to go. They're telling me to stop my education all together because it's not worth going to a bad college/university as most job employees (STEM field) are looking for A*A*A*A* in A levels. I want to study computer science at university/college.

Now can anyone with the same grades please tell me which prestigious/good universities I can apply to? The MIT, Harvard, Oxbridge dream is over because no matter how much they say "grades are not everything" they're not gonna accept me. I unfortunately don't have any other olympiad/project/internship related interests about myself, all I have are these grades to show at my university application.

Please help me, I really want a successful future and getting into a good university is my first step towards fulfilling that dream. Please don't discuss here about "bad universities/average universities are good enough xyz" because I already know which bad/average ones I can apply to and get in.

What is specifically want to know is which prestigious ones will still accept me despite my non lucrative grades.

oh goodness! that's terrible of your parents - straight As are still brilliant!! if you're looking at the UK, take a look at "russel group" universities - they're very highly rated and research-based universities. its definitely worth still going to university, and your grades are definitely good enough to get into russel group ones!

i can't help with american universities, but its worth researching league tables and looking at entry requirements in some of those. hope is not lost! best of luck and sending lots of love. i hope you can figure it out and get started on your journey to a very successful future! 💖

What's so special about russell group universities? I see that cambridge is one of their universities, however my cambridge dream is already over they don't accept students without A* in AS levels

They're prestigous because they're research based! https://www.theuniguide.co.uk/advice/choosing-a-course/what-is-the-russell-group <- check out this link for more info about them and other groups of universities if research isn't something you're interested in. I suggested it because being in the same group as Cambridge etc, is a decent draw for anyone.

I'm truly sorry you can't go to Cambridge, but its honestly not the end of the world. Cambridge is a good university but you can still be successful without having gone there! Please don't beat yourself up about not getting an A*, because an A is still brilliant - university is all about what you make of it. You can have gone to Oxford, Cambridge, etc and still be a worse off individual in the world of work because you don't try hard or keep your knowledge up to date... Take a look at it! If you have any teachers to ask, ask them for their opinion. Read around for articles explaining stuff like this and please don't lose hope. It'll all work out for the best.

There's no A* for CIE AS levels. https://www.cambridgeinternational.org/programmes-and-qualifications/cambridge-advanced/cambridge-international-as-and-a-levels/qualification/

Your grades are entirely on track for excellent universities.

What I mean by my A is that I got 80-85% on my 4 subjects, which in standard terms would be an A. That's what I mean. None of the subjects I scored 90% or above.
