Eligibility for Student Finance for PGCE After Working Abroad ~4 Years

I graduated from university in the summer of 2022 and got a teaching position in South-East Asia. I intend to return to the UK in summer 2026 to complete a PGCE in September 2026.

I have kept my link with the UK through the following:

-UK bank statements show I maintained an UK account every month since I left the UK (I still have my UK mobile phone).

-My temporary visa.

-Letters from employer verifying I have been here working temporarily (my contracts were not automatically extended - I had to have a performance review/interview to see whether I would be contacted again).

-I still have physical letters addressed to my UK home address from Summer 2022 to present.

With all of this in mind, would I have a sufficient case to prove that my time here is temporary?

Hi there,

If you maintained a link to the UK and can provide evidence for your full time away then it will be reviewed. From the information you've provided it sounds like you do have the evidence which we would need to make you eligible.

Thanks, Ross
