Degree needed for investment banking

Are there specific degrees and universities needed for going into investment banking? I am studying international business at the university of Edinburgh and was wondering if I would be able to go into investment banking

Many investment bankers have a relevant degree in investment banking, finance, accounting, economics, or business.

It depends on the specific area within an investment bank, but most (including the actual investment banking department - e.g. M&A) have no preference when it comes to the subject you're studying, they care more about which university you're studying it at.

There are some exceptions of course, some teams naturally require certain degrees like the Tech teams, legal teams, etc. Most trading roles favour applicants from STEM backgrounds nowadays.
