Not really, mine went quite well, some were better than others, some thought I had to revise more (you mean, actually do some revision to begin with!) etc, French teacher suggested A Level French. Hah!!! That was hilarious.
oh no! parents evening tonight at 4pm. im at school and my french and geog teacher sid they cant wait to meet my parents. Just coz i chat too much.
Anyone had any bad experiences with parents evening?
Yes... some bitch that was bullying me told her dumbass of a dad that I was bullying HER! He stormed over and started going on about how I'd been making his little angel's life a misery to my parents! I got in right trouble until I got chance to explain myself and numerous letters were written
We don't get a report instead the school calls the parents LOLonvce I was like *omg mom,i forgot to tell you we had a parents meeting today*she was like oh you..so she skipped it...
I've never really had any bad ones. Had my science teacher thinking that I was a rock for my friend and that I should help get him back on track of the work. I was the one messing about and setting fire to things, while he did try to work more then me. I just knew the stuff she was teaching and so could answer questions and question her so it always seemed like I was working....she predicted me an A*. HA. Also said that she looked forward to teaching me in sixth form. Both me and my mum just looked at her and said that as soon as I can leave the school I'm not coming back. In all of my meetings I have been told that I need to contribute more in class and be more vocal. I haven't had one time where this hasn't been said. My Dad did discuss University with my reception or Year 1 teacher, the First and Last time he attended a parents evening.
The school kept in constant contact with my parents anyway as i was a 'trouble maker' so whenever she went to Parents evening she already knew what had happened before hand, so it didn't matter.
I had a bit of a scrap with a teacher this one time though, and he told my mum. She didn't know about it, and i thought she would go mental at me, but she took my side.
No bad experiences, but a funny one; in Year 11, I did hardly any work in maths and nor did my friend because we just hated it and didn't get it a lot of the time. So we just sat there chatting and passing notes etc, even though we sat right at the front. At parents' evening, when we were talking to my maths teacher, he said 'you get on well with Miss Boxall (my friend), don't you?' And I said 'yeeeees', expecting him to tell my mum that we talked too much. Instead he came out with 'you make a good team, great working partners!' He even suggested taking A-level maths and I was just laughing so much!
Oh, and my food tech teacher started playing Mr. Nice Guy even though he was absolutely horrible to everyone all the time in class. My mum actually said after talking to him 'why do you insult him, he's nice!'
Last year my geography teachers said such lovely things at parents evening! Most other teachers say I'm quiet, hard-working, all that nonsense that my parents know already.
Next (and final) parents' evening is in a couple of weeks.
Yes mine was a couple of weeks ago. All the teachers said i need to study more if i want to pass so my mum and dad went on about studying and tried to ban me from going on msn through the week. Never worked though.
Parents evenings tend to be reasonably good for me. However there have been occasional showdowns - my mum roasted my guidance teacher for managing to forget about some guy trying to beat me up. I don't think I've ever had any major problems of parents coming home and yelling at me. They just yell at teachers for me
