Hi there, I hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself. I would say try and talk to friends and family, if are very close to them and trust them. University is difficult so I understand and an unplanned pregnancy can make things tough - so I totally get the sudden panic.

Speak to your pastoral team at your university if you can. Universities have lots of pastoral services for students, not just for mental health but also for tricky situations like these. Use them - don't suffer in silence. You may also be able to get access to professional advice from healthcare professionals (doctors/nurses) from your university GP/health care centre on your unplanned pregnancy. It'll help you come to terms with the pregnancy. They can also give you all the information you need in confidential manner to help you make a decision whatever it may be.

A lot of students do take breaks from university for a variety of reasons like pregnancies, mental health issues, family issues etc. You won't be the only one - it's quite common. I knew of someone who took a year out of university for personal reasons and returned the following year to finish their degree. You won't be the only one who does it.

I hope that helps.

Congratulations!

I understand that it was unplanned and you are panicking but please think carefully about your options before making any rash decisions. As the other member noted, you can take some time out of uni to raise daughter or son.

Good luck.
