Independent student finance

Hi was wondering what evidence student finance ask for to prove that you have been financially independent for three years .And what the amount you would need to be earning to be considered financially independent by student finance?

Hi Angie,

You can send your P60's or final wage slip (showing tax to date) that covers a full 3 years for this to be considered. It doesn't need to be consecutive.

There isn't a specified amount as long as the income shows you have worked enough to be classed as self supporting, then it will be considered. Thanks, Jason

These definitely sounds like acceptable income levels, yes, we just need our Independent team to make the final decision.

If you have 3 P60s that clearly show this income then that's all we'll need right now. We'd recommend uploading these as soon as you can.

We're currently processing this kind of evidence in 9 working days.

Thanks, Graeme
