English student directly entering into Second Year at a Scottish Uni

Hi, I recently applied to go study textiles design in Scotland and later found out I was eligible to get direct entry into the second year. I decided to change my application and do this instead of starting in first year as I already changed courses whilst doing Alevels putting me a year behind everyone else my age. However my problem is when I went to fill in my student finance it asked me what course I was doing and it came up with two options, the usual course with entry in first year or the same course with direct entry into year two. I selected direct entry but when it asked me what year of my study this was it wouldn't let me put first year. I tried to put in second year thinking it might be asking the year of the course but it then got me in a loop asking if I had taken a break from this course or if I had completed the first year somewhere else. the only advice the form gave me was to contact my uni but when I did they just said they couldn't do anything and I would have to contact student finance England. I contacted them the following day but they just told me to say I was starting in first year on the regular course instead of directly entering at second year and to just change it after my application is submitted. what should I do if I still can't rectify this issue once my application is complete?
Has anyone experienced similar circumstances and if so how did you fix this issue?
Thanks.

Hi there,

If you're going straight into year 2 and on the application you selected year 1 then once the applications approved you can change it online. If you are unable to change it online then please contact us directly to request a change of circumstances form and you would be able to manually change it.

Thanks, Ross
