Alevel physics

So In my gcse mock for physics, I got a nine. But I do combined science and I would really love to do alevel physics, my question is not will it be hard (bcs all qualifications require hard work to excel in) but whether the fact that I only know the combined science spec for physics - it will not set me up as well as if I did triple. An example being serperate physics includes lenses and space - but I don’t study this and with there being a whole module on Astro physics in a levels. Will it be a massive issue or setback that I take alevel physics compared to a separate student?

I doubt it would be a massive set back, it may be slightly more difficult for you but most of the content is new to everyone studying A-level so I wouldn't worry about it.

i did combined and do physics now and i moved to a school where they did triple and i know my peers have a slight advantage over me but its really not that deep
although we haven't covered it astro yet I can tell you you'll cover the basics before you learn the harder stuff thats with everything- teachers usually want to check if you remember the basics before learning the harder stuff so i wouldn't worry about it

I do A Level Physics and did combined science for GCSE, my teacher teaches us the knowledge from scratch and if we do know, we are just a little prepared for the lesson. Otherwise, I wouldn’t say that doing GCSE Combined Science will affect your A Levels, as long as they are great grades! :smile:

im in year 13 there are Ppl who did combined science who do better than triple. I did triple and im ngl i dont rely on any gcse knowledge for a level
