Little bit confused.

Hi, I am a little confused regarding my son's application to Plymouth University.
He applied via ucas for Diagnostic Radiography, included both the standard BSc and the one with the Foundation Year, just in case his results didn't meet the criteria for the 3 year course. He also applied to Exeter Uni.
He has recently been offered an interview with Exeter and has subsequently been offered a place. Good news. However, after checking Ucas the plymouth application just says "unsuccessful". No interview, not even for the one with Foundation Year, which to be honest, I would have expected him to be called for at least. Have they just had a massive amount of applicants and they are genuinely not interested at all, or changed the course maybe? Exeter's admission criteria is usually higher, so I have no clue. Has anyone here been for interview?

Could it be something as simple as his GCSE grades. Exeter say they want "4 Grade C or 4 in both Maths and English Language" whilst Plymouth say "Applicants need to achieve 5 GCSE passes (grade C/grade 4 or higher) which must include the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Science"?

Thank you for the reply. He definitely meets the GCSE criteria, and he is one of the fortunate few to actually have got some relevant work experience.

Hi there! Sorry to hear you've had some confusion with a recent application. I'd recommend emailing [email protected] to find out more information about this- they should be able to assist you and provide a reason for the unsuccessful application.

Best of luck! 🙂
