Hi! I tended to just google places and contact everyone. For lambing the national sheep association tends to have a list of farms looking for assistance. Best thing to do here is phone. Unfortunately you are going to have to contact more than one vet practice. I am a 4th year vet student and have to apply to at least 5 to even get one. I would email first and if you don't get a response in a week either email again or phone them up. RSPCA don't tend to take people under the age of 18, neither do dogs trust. Cats protection do as do some smaller rescues. To get experience with dogs/cats if rescues don't work out you can volunteer your time at kennels and/or catteries as another option. There's also farm parks (where i got most of my experience). There's also labs, abattoirs, zoos etc. There will be places that will not reject you but you have to just keep trying. When i was looking for work experience pre vet school overall i ended up emailing nearly 50 places and i only went to around 10 of them. Keep trying and don't give up!

I ended up with 70 hours of clinical experience I found using this website:

I was rejected from around 15 to 20 places before I finally got accepted. I sent out emails with a cv attached and a message basically stating I was in yr 12 and planned on studying vet med and I needed the work experience. I also gave all the dates I was free and eventually got accepted. For general animal husbandry experience I applied to 2 local city farms (I'm based in London) and ended up going to one of them every Tuesday from Jan to September. My biggest piece of advice is to apply to as many places as possible and if you end up with more offers then needed you can always reject the offer.
Good luck finding work experience. It's difficult but it's really worth it

i would look at all your local companies e.g. vets, animal shelters, farms, zoos whatever you can find and email/ring them directly if you can't find in person work experience it might be worth doing some online work experience

If you are London based it's worth signing up to access aspirations:

A friend of mine who is applying for medicine this year signed up and has the opportunity to work in a cancer research lab.
