Is it weird to start vaguely researching weddings when you’re not engaged?

Me and my partner will inevitably marry at some point. We always talk about when we marry etc it’s just a question as to when my boyfriend will pop the question.

Luckily this said wedding won’t be for another 2-3 yrs which is why I need to start saving for it as I’ve literally dreamt about the perfect wedding since I was like 7 (it’s a bit of a Monica from friends moment).

Our wedding will most likely cost £20K given the area we live in / hotel we want to have the reception at.

But is this totally weird? I’ve been enquiring about the venues I like prices as tbh, I need to know so I can know how much I roughly need to save.

My boyfriend is a typical boy & probably couldn’t care less about where we marry which is why I’m saying I’ when I talk about savings because I wouldn’t want him to worry.
No, not weird. Nothing wrong with being a bit Monica-like either. As you say, it helps you to plan for how much you need to save. Besides, planning a wedding is a massive time drain. Having some idea before you actually engaged of what might be required and how to go about doing it is hardly the worst use of your time.
