Sounds like you're in a good position! For reading, always make sure your answers sound good in English. If you read something to yourself and it doesn't 'sound right' it likely won't be the best wording. You could try to switch the sentence around or replace a word for example. Is English a subject you find difficult in general? For translation, make sure you pay close attention to every word in French. Often you might have translated something very accurately but it still doesn't sound right. In this case you may need to add something eg 'On Monday' in French could just be 'lundi'. However, always be careful when you're doing this. Try to spot pairs of words which you think might be a phrase and look them up together in the dictionary as translating literally word by word won't always work.
Advanced Higher is going well thanks, and I was really happy with the speaking. Hope yours went well too. If you're considering it, I really recommend taking Advanced Higher next year!

hey do you know if the higher listening is going to be 30 marks this year like it was in 2018? 20 marks for the actual listening as usual but then another 10 marks for a mini essay to be written in french??

Hi, I don't think so as they updated the course in 2019 to remove that. Here is the current course specification: https://www.sqa.org.uk/files_ccc/HigherCourseSpecModernLanguages.pdf Question Paper 1: Reading and Directed Writing, 50 Marks. Question Paper 2: Listening, 20 Marks. Hope this helps!

i’m also planning on taking advanced french however my school also doesn’t offer it. do you have any idea what’ll be happening, as we aren’t able to do our advanced highers in colleges anymore.

That's great you'd like to do Advanced Higher! We've had students going to and coming from other schools in our area to do languages. For example, a school near us didn't offer Advanced Higher so some pupils came to us. Someone from my school couldn't do Advanced Higher with us because of timetabling, so they went to another school. Maybe this is an option for you? I'd ask your teachers.
