Speech therapy pre registration masters and student finance - help!

Hi all

I’ve been offered a place to study at masters level to become a SLT.

As far as I’m aware we are entitled to full student finance as I’ve heard they treat it as if it is an undergraduate. So I will receive the same amount of funding during my masters as I did undergrad. Is this correct?

Can someone also please tell me, will I receive the nhs bursary on top of my student finance? Is my finance reduced in any way because of the bursary?

Thanks!

If you get your funding from SFE, then pre-reg healthcare masters do qualify for undergraduate funding (both tuition fee and maintenance loans) and you can apply now.

If your course is at a uni in England, then you will be able to apply to the NHS Learning Support Fund (NHS LSF) for the annual training grant and other benefits. This does not affect your student finance entitlement. (Note - the NHS Bursary is only for medics and dental students). Get your student finance in place first and then apply to the NHS LSF.
