I am an International student currently considering coming to YSJ in September 2024 to study Project Management. I have accommodation in Leeds and I am wondering if the commute to YSJ would be stressful. Can you assist with information regarding the frequency of lectures per week for the MSc PM, availability of trains from Leeds to YSJ and the average cost per week? Also, I heard YSJ offers commuters accommodation?

Hi there,

Congratulations with your place at YSJ to study Project Management!

With the MSc Project Management course you will be in university for a few hours a week which may be spread over a couple of days. the course structure can be found on our website here Project Management MSc | York St John University (yorksj.ac.uk).
I terms of commuting from Leeds it is absolutely doable with frequent trains every 5-10 minutes. The journey will cost you no more than £20 for an open return. If you do decided to commute by train I would suggest looking into a rail card as this could cut down the train costs if you are in regularly.
You are right is saying that we do offer commuters accommodation so that is also something which you would be able to use for up to 3 nights per week. Although with our commuters accommodation it will need to be booked in advance as it can get booked up quickly due to imitated space.

To summaries Leeds to York is defiantly commutable for any student as its about a 30 minute train journey, commuters accommodation is an option if you would like to stay overnight between lecture and the MSc course will have a few hours of teaching per week.

I hope this helps 😊
