LSE Financial Maths & Statistics - No related work experience... a problem?

Hi there, I am applying for LSE for entry 2025 but I have no work experience at a finance/accounting firm as most suggest.

However...
I have been trading for about 5 years, researching quantitative models and doing extensive reading... and have also launched a cryptocurrency project a few years ago which was valued at $5,000,000. I have also been working with my family as a Property Manager and also managing payrolls and processing tenants for a few years. I have also got volunteering experience at a Charity Shop and also another charity firm where I was a Volunteer Receptionist. That was for my Duke of Edinburgh Silver award.

I am also member of my city's uni trading society and have attended some of their lectures and also attended a Trading Convention in London was partnered with them.

This is the general gist of my "related experience" but not particularly experience in a finance firm. Would it make a HUGE difference if I don't do any work experience?

Interested to hear what you mean by the cryptocurrency project i.e. an actual coin or like a group who make crypto/nft calls.
Either way sounds really proactive and you should be fine.

Forgot to add, but was wondering how non-uni students were allowed to join their local societies? I enquired prev. but was told only students could.

Good question! Yes, I do mean an actual token/coin which was traded on an exchange!

University of Nottingham Student Union allows non-uni students to purchase membership. You pay a small fee for the year, something ~5-10 pounds to be allowed to subscribe to any society. (I am in Nottingham) However It does depend on the city and how open the Uni is.
