Apprenticeships:

I just wonder what avenue is best for choosing an apprenticeship? I know Amazon and Unilever are good, for example, but what about going through a university to get an apprenticeship? What universities do the companies go through? Do you get to choose the university that you go to if you go through the company, or do they send you to the one they think is best?

Basically, I guess I'm trying to ask which is better for an apprenticeship - going through a university in the area your interested in (I'm thinking University of Central Lancashire with digital marketing) or going through companies (I'm thinking about Amazon or Unilever, I heard their really good for marketing). I really don't know what to do! Any advice would be really great and helpful, thanks so much!

Also, as an add on, can you stay at the university you go to through your apprenticeship or do you have to buy your own accommodation/ live at home?

Mucho gracias!!!

HI @swarbyyy7, 😊

How are you?

Great to see that you are exploring your options and are considering apprenticeships including our BA (Hons) Digital Marketing degree apprenticeship. Degree apprenticeships are a great way for you to combine studying with real work experience, all whilst earning a wage and graduating with an honours or master’s degree. If this interests you, there's some great information on how to get a degree apprenticeship here.

UCLan - BA (Hons) Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship
This is a three year course taught at our Preston campus. The course involves both theory and practice as you learn how to create and execute a digital marketing strategy. Students on this course will gain the vital tools needed to promote a business through social media, websites, apps and e-content.

I can see you've asked about accommodation options whilst you complete your apprenticeship, let me speak to our accommodation team and I will update you as soon as I know more on this.

If you have any questions, I'd be more than happy to help you 😊

All the best,
Sarah

Hi @swarbyyy7,

Thank you for your patience whilst I had a look into this. Currently those who are studying on the degree apprenticeship won't be eligible for halls however our accommodation team do offer students support in looking for private accommodation. For further information about the options available to you, you are welcome to email [email protected]

Do let me know if you have any questions 😊

All the best,
Sarah

Hi Sarah,
I am a self-taught digital marketer, but I am strongly in favour of obtaining a recognised diploma. Do you offer any remote programmes as well? I have seen that the Digital Marketing Degree Apprenticeship programme is only available in-person.
Thank you. Any information is useful.

Hi @SylvesterKnow,

Thanks for your message. It's great to hear that you are looking to gain a qualification in digital marking. I don't believe we currently offer a remote programme for digital marketing. However I would recommend you reach out to our course enquiries team who will be happy to chat to you about your options, you are welcome to email the team at [email protected] or you can call them on +44 (0)1772 892400.

Do let me know if you have any questions. 😊

Best wishes,
Sarah
