Funding your studies

It can be hard to know what financial help is available to you as a student. 🤔

Learn about the variety of options that can help fund your studies and maximise the money available to you below.

Student loans ⬇️
As a student at the University of Bradford, you may be able to borrow money to help with the cost of tuition fees or living expenses.

Funding from the government
▪️ Tuition Loan: covers the cost of your course and is paid directly to the University.
▪️ Maintenance Loan: can contribute to the cost of your living expenses as an undergraduate student.
▪️ Master's Loan: can contribute to the cost of a postgraduate taught degree.
▪️ Doctoral Loan: can help cover the cost of your course and living expenses as a PhD student.

Funding from the University
▪️ Student Support Fund Loan: is provided by the University to help students in certain circumstances.
▪️ Laptop Loan Fund: is for students with no access to IT equipment.

Student grants ⬇️
As a student at the University of Bradford, you may be able to apply for money to help with the cost of living expenses.

Funding from the government
▪️ Adult Dependant's Grant: can help you if you're financially responsible for another adult.
▪️ Childcare Grant: is for parents or guardians who need help with childcare costs.
▪️ Disabled Students' Allowance: can support you with the additional costs of studying with a physical or mental health condition.
▪️ Parents Learning Allowance: is available to students with children.
▪️ NHS Learning Support Fund: provides additional financial support to students studying university healthcare courses.

Funding from the University
▪️ Care Experience Students' Grant: is for students who have previously been in care as a child or young person.
▪️ DSA Refund Grant: offers financial assistance for students receiving DSA who wish to purchase a computer.
▪️ Estranged Students' Grant: offers extra financial assistance to students who are not in contact with and are not supported by either of their parents.
▪️ Student Support Fund Grant: helps students who are facing financial difficulty with essential living costs.

▪️ Funding for students with children: Find out about non-repayable grants and repayable loans that are available.
▪️ Repeating a year of studies: If you have studied previously and have either had to drop out or repeat a year of your course due to compelling personal reasons, then you may be able to apply to get an extra year of funding from your student finance provider.
