Ask an unemployed graduate anything

I have been unemployed for 9 months since graduating in July 2023. Ask me anything about university & finding a job afterwards.

Here are some questions:

1.

Have you considered internships?

2.

Do yoo have particular industries in mind?

3.

Have you considered a masters in a general subject?

4.

do you regret your degree?

5.

How do you spend your time?

1.

Yes I have considered many internships

2.

I am open to any industries but am mainly considering film/media due to the nature of my degree

3.

No because I found university very challenging and it affected my mental health greatly. I'm unsure of the benefits of doing a Master's and I feel it will put me in more debt and leave me with less chance of finding employment.

4.

Yes. I'm not sure I regretted it whilst I was undertaking the degree but I regret it immensely now that I have graduated

5.

Mainly job hunting (this is sporadic because I find the job hunting process affects my mental health and mood too badly but I do apply often), video games, positing on TSR and occasionally talking to my friends

I suggest that you continue to apply to jobs and consider a masters course. It is difficult to get into film/media, so I would suggest that you pivot.
