Cambridge Chemical engineering and biotechnology

Hi, i am currently in year 12 doing maths, chemistry, biology for alevel
I was thinking of applying to cambridge for chemical engineering and biotechnology but i am wondering if i am at a disadvantage because i dont take physics or further maths (as it is an engineering course) or if it is fine to apply with my current alevels. Otherwise should i look at another course?

Thank you

You can apply, however the stat is 87% of people on the course took Further Maths. 12% took Physics. So no physics is completely fine but having FM is a HUGE advantage

Does anyone know whether Cambridge has released the east practice materials? They said they’d release them in may and I can’t seem to find them

Hi, I didn't take Further Maths. It definitely helps to have taken it but you will go over the necessary content in the Maths A module that you will cover over the year.

Id recommend going over Matrices, the Differential Equation ODE topics and FM Vectors over the summer if you're feeling like you'd do with a level footing

Which modules of FM are most useful? FS1 and DS1 or FS1 and FM1? Thanks.

"Most Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology students (who had studied A levels and started at Cambridge in 2018, 2019 and 2023) achieved at least A*A*A* (80% of entrants).
All had studied:

Chemistry

Mathematics

Most also took Further Mathematics (78%) and/or Physics (86%)."

Do as many Pure modules as you can then mechanics ..
