Cardiff or Liverpool for Medicine

Hi
I'm debating between Cardiff or Liv for my insurance for med. These are some reasons I've noted down for each one so far.

Cardiff:
+ A very 'nice' area to live in countryside etc as well as city so best of both worlds
+ Seems a lot calmer/safer than big cities like Liverpool
+ CBL
+ FRIENDLY PEOPLE!!
- It's around 2.5hrs away which is a lot further than Liverpool
- The placements around wales is iffy because of travelling up and down and also language barrier for patients/elderly who speak welsh only
- Rural medicine would be interesting but it's not something I see myself doing in the future

Liverpool:
+ Very very 'city' like where I currently live so less of a culture shock
+ Wide range of specialty hospitals which would be a great learning experience on placements e.g. head and neck/ alder hay's
+ Not too far away
+ Entry requirements are AAA or A*AB which could offer some safety for results day this summer...
+- not a good reason but it seems more 'prestigious' maybe because it's the first russel group uni founder
- Maybe I need a change from the city environment to somewhere further away like cardiff...
- placements not as early on as cardiff

There's probably more I could write for each of them but this is the overall vibe I'm getting.
I'd greatly appreciate if anyone who goes here or knows more about the unis let me know what you think of them so I can make the right choice.

Have you had a chance to go to offer-holder days to have another look around both unis and cities? My DDs second visit to Liverpool confirmed that this was where she wanted to go over her insurance choice.

I've been to both and honestly they're great in their own ways so for me it comes down to the student's opinions
