how hard is a level english lit?

im in year 11 and currently predicted all 9s (yet english lit is probably my weakest 9: one that i fear i won't get, and i dont know if that's bc im bad or if the gcse is just hard to get 9).

im planning to hopefully to go into medicine as its a passion of mine, (alongside literature being my second passion), and plan to take bio, chem, maths, english lit for my a levels (school makes take 4 at first).

i have a good memory and work very efficient compared to others (make flashcards during the lesson instead of notes to save time), and feel like i am quite competent at maths.
my writing is quite good too but not my strongest point.

im concerned that english lit will be too hard for me and take up too much of my time. i know i will probably enjoy it a lot more than any other subject, but feel like i should play it safe and pick something like physics or further maths, subjects i have more of a natural talent in.

is english lit too hard of a subject to pick as my fourth a level?

English doesn't really take up your studying time at least for me. You will definitely improve a LOT over the two years like I was getting 17/25 in my essays at the start of year 12 and now I get 21-23/25 each time. I got an 8 in GCSE if that's any help! As long as you understand the assessment objectives and how to implement them into each paragraph you will be absolutely fine. The coursework is fun and can help a little if you get 23+ on it and flop one of the essays in the actual papers.
