Repeat 2nd year at QMUL

Is it possible to repeat my second year? I had a bad year due to some mental health problems and unless I get 67% next year I will be leaving uni with a 2:2. Is it possible to repeat a year at QMUL?

This would only be allowed if there are extenuating circumstances. See "Repeating a module or a year (retakes and first takes)", paragraphs 2.99 through 2.105, in their Academic Regulations 2023-24 (here).

There is further information on their "Repeating, interrupting, transferring or withdrawing" web page, here, which talks about the practical implications (e.g. on student finance and any visa).

Degree classifications at QMUL are based on a 10:30:60 ratio of each year's mark. For you to need 67% next year for a 2:1 overall suggests that you obtained around 50% in Year 1 and Year 2. Is that about right?

Many, many students leave university with a 2:2, or worse. Is is really the disaster that you imply? Is it really worth attempting to retake the year to avoid? (Especially as their is no guarantee that doing so would result in a 2:1 overall anyway.)
