Supporting a Student Finance application

My dad is unable to fill in his details to support my application for Student Finance because “his details don’t match” what those on my application. The only thing that I can think of would be him not including his middle name when creating his Student Finance account, otherwise everything else does perfectly match.

He’s also only just recently made an email so I didn’t get to put it on my Student Finance application.

He’s tried filling out the online form, but when he went to upload it, it didn’t allow him.

What should I do?

Form PFF2 needs to be uploaded to your account (not your dad's).

A change has been made to the system this year so we are seeing a lot of the same issue - details not matching due to omitting the middle name.

I uploaded the pff2 form onto my account not my parents with like person 1 and 2 being both of them, does that still get processed as them uploading evidence to support my account and do you know how long it takes to get fully processed? because i uploaded it a couple days ago but my parents still got an email talking about how sfe hasnt received any evidence about their financial details etc…

It's currently taking around 20 working days to process evidence so expect to hear back mid May. It can take a while for the system to update once evidence is submitted so don't worry about the reminders.

shouldnt it say completed on my account? because in the sponsor details section it says it hasnt been completed for both of them or do i have to wait around 20 working days for that part to say completed? Also it is fine if i upload the pff2 form on my account right just for a second clarification?… (sorry about all these questions im just panicked as sfe deadline is soon)

Yes it was correct to upload the pff2 to your account. Your account should update once someone starts to process your application.

I called Student Finance yesterday and they said it was fine to upload the PFF2 to my own account.

Don’t stress too much I was in the exact same position! It won’t say it’s completed but that’s for them to do on their end. I would say mine took 2 weeks to confirm once I uploaded my online evidence. As long as you’ve completed all the steps you’re more than fine! If they have any queries it’s more than likely that they’ll contact you )

I did the same thing as the OP (not including the middle name of my parents so they could not link their accounts to mine) and could not fill in the PFF2 form so instead I phoned SFE and they told me I can cancel my application and reapply after, so I filled out a Change of Circumstances form about 2 weeks ago which I assume is meant to cancel it (?) as I was informed to do, but it said it will take 6-8 weeks to recognise and process the online evidence on my account and will mean I can only apply well after the deadline so I'm really concerned about applying for finance in time for uni!!!

From what I’ve seen and been reading it shouldn’t take SFE to look at your Change of Circumstance! However how come you wanted to cancel it? Was the 6-8 for the cancellation or for the PFF2 evidence?

It was just easier to connect to my parents pre-existing SFE accounts (as my brother went to uni) than to fill out the form manually. It said 6-8 to check evidence as I had submitted the change of circ. form online as evidence so I assume it takes that long to cancel

I see! I really don’t think it will actually take 6-8 weeks to cancel it! If it doesn’t then just make sure to keep a good eye on your inbox and look at SFE everyday to apply again. In the case that deadlines coming up I would call SFE again to see if there was an alternative route! I’m pretty sure when I rang they said you could also do a physical form that you send. By the time you’re cancellation would be approved it surely would’ve arrived at the SFE headquarters I’m hoping
