LSE economics courses vs Oxford

Ive heard people say LSEs brand name for an economics course is worth choosing over an Oxford economics course. Is this true? Apparently LSE is more globally recognised for economics too, is this true as well?

Oxford will always beat LSE for brand name. This is especially true internationally. Virtually every big employer in the world would have heard of Oxford. The same cannot be said for LSE, although that's not to say it doesn't a good reputation internationally. Anyone who says LSE's reputation is superior is biased (likely an Oxbridge reject) and I say this as an LSE student and Oxbridge reject myself.

Also, I assume you're talking about the Econ & Management course at Oxford which has one of the lowest acceptance rates of all Oxford courses. This only adds to the prestige.

Regardless, gaining admission into either university is incredibly difficult and therefore incredibly impressive. One's career prospects wouldn't be harmed by choosing one over the other either, even though Oxford has a slightly better brand.
