Can I be studying a degree at a university and still apply for a degree apprenticeship?

Yes, that's absolutely fine. A lot of people do this when they realise university isn't for them.

so first is just filling in basic details, right to work, grades etc
then it's online interviews thing, you basically record an answer to a question so you don't actually speak to anyone, talk about like the key values of the company, look into what they are looking for and link those things to experiences you've had. There's also like an online game section it's mostly just pattern stuff there isn't really a way to prepare for this, i guess you could try and find similar games but i wouldn't spend much time on this.
then they invite you to an in person applicant day where you visit the site and such. You have to do an interview, group assessment and technical assessment. So they're looking for how you work in a group, in the group one. How you think in the technical one (they're not really looking at your actual technical knowledge but just try your best keep guessing stuff). Then interview is like standard interview stuff.
then you either get an offer or not (obviously then you have to get the grades too).
tips would be too look into their key values and link you and your experiences to them also attend any online webinars they offer because they are gonna give you tips and stuff too

thank you for your help! i really appreciate it!!

do you know how much they care about your a levels aside form getting the entry requirements (i take maths and physics so i’m not worried about that)? as in are they very stingy about whether you take further maths or not?

thank you in advance!

No, as long as you get the entry requirements, it doesn't really matter too much - it's more about what experience and skills you can show off during the application process.

Maths and physics is absolutely fine - that's what I did. Didn't do further maths - not a problem.

they said that you absolutely must get the entry requirements but they do a summer school if you didn't take physics. I don't think the subjects matter too much if you've got at least maths and physics.

a lot of colleges don't offer further maths so places (uni or apprenticeships) shouldn't have it as a requirement

I helped a bunch of people this year get into JLR so I can definitely help.
It's one of the most competitive degree apprenticeships out there in the engineering sector so you need to go in with a very strong application, which includes work experience and other key achievements. They will ask for a CV, cover letter and an application question.
Then it's online testing. The key thing here is you need to know exactly what JLR is looking for. Some of the things they are looking for (it's on their mark scheme) include:

Working with others

Problem solving

Quality focus

(there's a few more which I'm happy to go into more detail on over DM).
And then finally it's an assessment centre which includes an interview and a presentation. For the interview, ensure that you embody the JLR Creator's Code (google it). And for the presentation, ensure that you thoroughly research and understand JLR's Reimagine strategy (also google it).
If you want any more detail about JLR, I'll be helping people get into roles which start in September 2025.So feel free to drop me a DM if you want to know more.

hey i would love to know about degree apprenteceship and JLR interviews in more detail if you could pm, as i am unable to do so.
