Sixth Form/ IB options

Hi, I am currently looking to take the IB program in the Sixth Form and I am looking at four schools: Haileybury, Cheltenham Ladies College, Wellington College ad Sevenoaks. Which school would be the best for me to apply to? I can probably only apply to 2, and one less expensive safety school. To give some background, I am used to some academic challenges and I want to study mathematics (possibly). I also want a school where there is some inclusivity as I am international (nigerian) and Muslim.
Sorry for the long post, THANK YOUUU

hi i go to wellington and am about to sit my final IB exams.. i would 100% reccomend it, it's worth being aware that the IB is definitely a lot of work wherever you take it especially with all the coursework, but if you stick to deadlines, which aren't actually that bad, then it's a breeze, all the teachers are absolutely amazing and have brilliant backgrounds for the IB... it's also very inclusive and they've just created a new boarding house with many overseas people in it... feel free to ask if you have anymore questions

hi jane! i'm curious whether do you get to choose whether you're sitting IB or A levels in wellington. since in cheltenham, it's the teachers who choose the smartest students in the school to do IB, is wellington the same? x

I am a student at Cheltnham atm, and its the best decision I have ever made coming here! Even though I do A-levels and am on the Beale Award, this school had been nothing but supportive towards me, and boarding here is great too (if you were looking to do that too). Couldn't recommend CLC enough, and many of my friends to IB, and even though it is challenging at times, its so rewarding too. Apply !

hi,

Can you give a little bit more information about 13+ / 14+ entry process? How does the exam look like ? How is the interview process? Thanks in advance!

It depends if you are international or not.
if you are international and local you will prob have to take ISEB then a interview (or a interview day)

Do you think that someone with a good entrance exam and interview but lower predicted grades would to able to get into CLC? Im also applying for beale award. Also, how many girls take entrance exams for sfc1?
thx

hey! sorry for the late reply. This depends if you are given a conditional/unconditional offer. i was given a unconditional offer (i think for my entrance exam) and I was predicted grades from 4's to 9's! they are very welcoming with student of all different abilities, in my opinion, due to there being a lot of girls here who have gone to sixth form from the younger years there. I cant say how many people take entrance exams, but i am aware it is a very competitive school to get into. hope this helps and feel free to message with any more questions.

If IB, Sevenoaks would definitely be the BEST choice. It's a full IB school as you may know, so it focuses on every subjects like english, MFL, maths, and sciences if you want to get in. Other then that, if you want to go to a girl school, then CLC. It's more like an international school that consists a lot of forein students. So, the boarding is very good and very inclusive. But the majority of CLC students don't take IB, if you want to take IB, you have to be good.(they may be picky just guessing). Wellington college has more then 100 students taking IB with good results coming out. It's six form boarding is very good(the rooms all have single bathrooms). But wellington is more a local school not a lot of forien students(it doesn't mean it's not inclusive but just mainly uk students. about 10%of international students). Overall, if your academic is good just apply for the above three. Halibury is not as good as the above three.( Both alevel and Ib).

Hi! Can I ask about the phone usage, freedom on boarding like going out etc.? Are there tutors to help? How easy is it to make friends as an international? How's the food? Is the teaching quality high? Are there any complaints? Any thoughts or compliments to give in detail?
I apologies for this many questions, I am really considering Cheltenham atm! Many thanks in advance!
