The Student Room Group

I mistakenly applied for the special support loan - Student finance

I have adhd and already applied for dsa but then it asked me again if i was disabled so i put yes. There were a sequence of questions asking if I am receiving benefits, and honestly I was a bit confused as i was technically receiving benefits from the dsa so i clicked yes again. Now I realised that this loan is only for those with more 'observable' disabilities like those in a wheelchair or smth and now i got an email saying i need to provide evidence....is there a way to tell student finance to cancel this special support loan thing?

Hi there,

Do you receive PIP or DLA?

Thanks,

Nope. I just sent 'evidence' with a note saying that it was a mistake and that they should just reject my application...It honestly was a mistake and there was nothing else I could do to retract the application

If they do reject the dla application, will everything else be okay to proceed my application? I'm totally fine being rejected for it because it was an honest mistake and everything else on my 2024/25 application is fine.

Thank you.

If you've uploaded a cover letter then this will go to be processed and updated. You shouldn't need to do anything further and yes, the rest of your application will be updated accordingly. Thanks, Jason
