Computer Science degree/ Apprenticeship

I'm currently at a crossroads and in need of some advice.I have been accepted into a computer science program, but I am unsure about which specific area to focus on. I prefer to have a broad understanding of the field. However, I am also faced with the dilemma of choosing between my family and my career. The university I have been accepted to is far away from where I currently live. This has led me to consider settling for a nearby apprenticeship, but I also want to have more options in the future. I am truly undecided about which step to take next.
