Very shrewd business-woman.
I do like her music, but I feel like she is quite overhyped, especially with the concert tickets costing like £3000

I do like Taylor, I don’t think she’s ever had a ‘bad’ song but by now I feel like a lot of her songs sound very samey. She’s still one of my top artists, but there are things she can do to improve. She has such a big carbon footprint that she can easily reduce, tickets for thousands of pounds is absurd.

I do think she could be considered ‘one of the greatest artists of our time’ due to her immense popularity, fairly good songwriting (better than most modern artists anyway) and a good voice. But her songs can get boring after a while. She’s not for everyone. I think she’s slightly overrated, but there is a reason why she’s popular.

I do agree that concert tickets are too expensive . However, I like Taylor Swift. I feel like her early music was tonnes better than her more recent couple albums. I'm thinking 1989 and RED are the best!

I think her songs all follow the same rough formula: talk about breakups and boys to appeal to teenage girls and young women, roughly the same chord progression used in every song, put in 'hidden' motifs so that when fans find them they go wild "OMG TAYLOR IS SUCH A GENIUS" (like the number 13). I mean it's obviously worked for her so why would she stop? IMO she's very very overrated, (tickets for £3000 wtf??) but I think everyone can agree that swifties are generally better than disney adults right? (Except those ones that spend ridiculous amounts of money on and literally worship the confetti from her tours, they should go and seek therapy 😭 (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/184874431925 for reference))

I'm not a massive Swiftie - some songs i like(although none from her new album), some annoy the hell out of me - happens to every artist. Her older songs will always be iconic and great imo.
It's a shame that with a massive platform like hers, she rarely speaks out about worldly problems unlike other celebrities this and her massive carbon footprint. But hey, this happens to practically every celebrity which is why we shouldn't worship them rip

way overhyped. i like some of her songs, but generally find her as a person to be quite annoying and her fanbase needs to calm down omg.
also her thing with taking a plane everywhere is ridiculous and needs to be stopped by law.
she knows exactly what shes doing cultivating her fanbase and has successfully built an army of fanatics rivalling that of kpop groups which is saying something. definitely more business savvy than she lets on.

She is everything that is wrong with modern pop music.

she is the Dolly Parton de nos jours :thrasher:
Some of her songs are ok, but personally i am not a fan of her.

okay so I love Taylor Swift but I do understand how some people may not like her music. I think lots of people only know her for her 'radio songs' like shake it off and I knew you were trouble which is a shame cus while they are decent they are definitely not the songs that I like. I prefer her folklore and evermore album which is more in sync with the other artists I like such as Lana, CAS etc as they tell more stories and idk for me they evoke more emotion. One of my faves is mad woman and the prophecy because she finds a way to say the right words for the way I feel.

Also side note tickets DO NOT cost £3000 but they are still veryyyy expensive, I paid £180 for good seats in the lower tier for the London show but someone I know paid £300 for a vip package which is insane. I also don't like how she keeps releasing different variants of vinyls and cds, cus it just feeds into the current problem of overconsumption of our society today.

But I do love her storytelling emotional songs, and tbf she has made over 300 songs so it's completely valid to be bored of her music or not like all of them.

Very good point, also thanks for the concert price clarification, nice to hear from someone who actually went to one of her shows.

Shake it off is not a bad song (just a bit too commercialised I think) but my favourite song of hers is enchanted.

really over-hyped, her music is mediocre at best. I still don't understand how some of her fans are so obsessed w her, its just boring and repetitive.
