It’s really dependent on your performance, aspirations and subjects. If you’re studying subjects that have a lot of content in them, you’re going to have to revise more for them than someone studying subjects with less content. If you’re performance is weak and you want better grades, you’ll put in more hours of revision than someone who is content with their current grades. There’s no set time limit because it depends on you as a person and what you want. As a fellow Year 12 studying all essay based subjects (psychology, philosophy and politics) I have been trying to do at least 2 hours during 4/5 weekdays (haven’t met that goal) and at least 4 on weekends, if not more. I focus more on psychology and politics as they have more content and require more focus than philosophy does. This is only how I’ve been revising in the lead up to mocks, which for me is in 4 weeks. My goals in terms of grades are A*AA/AAA with the A* being in psychology and I’ve been putting in more effort than most people I know when revising because I want high grades. I only need AAB predicted for uni, but I’m applying to a competitive course and I know that I’m capable of getting more than AAB, so it doesn’t hurt to try.
