International Business

I am thinking of applying for International Business with Mandarin but it is extremely competitive. I know that it is basically just a Business Management course but with an extra year abroad.

Is the course worth it?

I have done a lot of research about the breakdown of the course, university ratings and general student satisfaction but I would appreciate people's personal opinions on this course.

I'm generally not a fan of business degrees in general, and I am not a fan of the Chinese practices in general. I am not a fan of the language either, and I say that even though I generally like languages. So in a way, I will be biased.

When people ask questions like whether something is "worth it", I get all philosophical. It's annoying because it's vague; you assume everyone shares the same values as you, the same ambitions, and the same benchmarks. In many ways, it's implied narcissism.

I think it's more important to ask yourself the following:

What do you intend to do with the degree afterwards and is the degree necessary?

Why business? Why Mandarin? Why that particular course?

Do you enjoy studying business and do you enjoy languages?
